A sign from 1961 inside the factory

A window with artistic brickwork

Front door closed up and overgrown (1987)

(B308) Trainee bricklayers at Trowbridge college.  While bricklaying may seem to be a humble start in life, many of the successful propety developers I met at the Building Society had started life laying bricks, or plumbing, or electrics or carpentry.  Those are the trades of housebuilding.

(B315) Looks like a local event the Gateway Building Society has sponsored. The things we do for publicity.

(B319) Take the strain…!

(B320) The barmaid at Pee Wee’s, a pub at the top of Castle St, next door to the Salvation Army.

(B323) Playing snooker at Pee Wee’s. Shame about the tear in the green baize.

(B324) Live music at Pee Wee’s. Any idea who the performers are?

(B325) R&B at Pee Wee’s. Who is this guy?

(B327) Another barmaid. This one at The King’s Arms. A pub opposite the Provident Friendly Society in Stallard St. What was her name?

(B326) One man following his fortune on a One Arm Bandit at the King’s Arms.
